In a continuing effort to recognize, encourage, and reward students for excellence in academics, campus and community service, and for professional promise, Penn State DuBois awards nearly $800,000 for scholarships annually.
How to apply for Penn State DuBois Scholarships
Incoming first-year students who have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file are automatically considered for all Penn State DuBois scholarships.
Upper-class students, including students in the spring semester of their first year of study, who wish to apply for sophomore aid, must file a FAFSA.
The Penn State DuBois Scholarship Committee is charged with determining the awards.
Scholarship awards range from $400 to $3000 per academic year. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full-time unless otherwise noted to be considered for scholarship funds.
To be considered for any Penn State scholarship a student must file a FAFSA. Most scholarship recipients must show a financial need based on their FAFSAs. The Penn State DuBois Scholarship Committee may request additional information from those students being considered for the various scholarships.
Penn State General Awards
- Penn State Discover Award
This newly established award is available to Penn State students from states bordering Pennsylvania (DE, MD, OH, NJ, NY, and WV), as well as the District of Columbia and Virginia. Students from these states may be considered for an award of $6,000 in their freshman and sophomore years, and $7,000 in their junior and senior years. Students who transfer from a community college to the junior year at Penn State Mont Alto may be considered for an award of $6,500 a year for three years to help them earn a bachelor’s degree. The Discover Award will follow a student to another Commonwealth Campus but not to University Park. - Penn State Provost Award
The Provost Award is dedicated to Pennsylvania residents and ranges between $5,000 (for freshmen and sophomores) and $7,000 (for juniors and seniors). The Provost Award follows a student if the student transitions to another Commonwealth Campus or to University Park.
